Frequently Asked Questions

You can receive packages of just about any size. We use both AIR and OCEAN freight services. There is a minimum weight requirement of thirty (30) pounds per package for items to be sent via OCEAN. Items such as furniture and large appliances can be sent through our Ocean Service. Large items that we often ship via air for our customers include items such as computers, electronics, car parts, ready-to-assemble furniture; toys etc. (Please ensure that all shipments are packaged properly as we will not accept liability for damage to goods due to improper packaging.)

Packages that are received at our Miami facility are sent to POS within 24-48 hours of receiving. Processing time in Trinidad can be between 24-48 hours additional. Delays can occur due to Public holidays, flight delays, delayed clearing through Customs and Excise Trinidad.

We can accept Linx, Credit Card and Cash payments for your ease.

Online vendors require your personal telephone number so they can contact you if they need to confirm your order. The telephone number you provide should be the same one your bank has on file with the Credit Card you used for the purchase.

We here at B & H can purchase on your behalf. Purchases made on your behalf will incur a 12% Service Charge. Email us the links for your items to be purchased. We will work out the Purchase Cost for you. The purchase cost must be paid in full prior to your purchase. 

Our Trinidad office is open Monday to Thursday, from 9AM to 6PM. Fridays are from 9AM to 12PM then 2PM to 6PM and Saturdays 9AM to 4PM.

We ship all your mail and magazines as well. These will incur the weight charge and other charges (if applicable).

Yes, either you or anyone else can drop off items at our Miami Warehouse. We will physically examine the cargo to confirm the contents and issue a Warehouse Receipt to the person who made the delivery. Our receiving hours in Miami are 8AM TO 4PM Monday to Friday. The warehouse is closed on Public Holidays and Weekends.

Items considered to be Dangerous Goods by the FAA will be put on hold in Miami and will not be sent until we receive further instructions and their approval. If you are unsure about your items and need clarification please send up an email at shipbandh@gmail.com or contact us on 672-8819 for further details. We are not liable for Hazardous or Dangerous items that cannot be shipped to Trinidad

We re-weigh packages both at Miami and Trinidad for security reasons. There will be times your supplier may state your package weight as 2lbs when it is in fact 1lb, or vice versa. We always re-weigh to ensure that you only pay for your ACTUAL weight. You will be charges for every pound or any part thereof.

There is a difference between CONSOLIDATIONS and REPACKAGING.

CONSOLIDATIONS are simply waiting for all packages to arrive (over one week) to our warehouse then shipping as is.

REPACKAGING - Is waiting for packages (over a period of a week) to arrive then repackaging all items into one box. Box sizes vary from small to large. There is a repackaging fee attached 

 

1) Small box repack - $10.00 USD

2) 18" x 18" x 18" - $18.00 USD

3) 24" x 24" x 24" - $25.00 USD

To request REPACKAGE or CONSOLIDATION please email a list of all tracking numbers BEFORE PACKAGES ARRIVE TO THE WAREHOUSE. Call us for details.

Due to their extremely high volume of parcels, the United States Postal Service is unable to individually verify the status of every delivery. Therefore their records of your package being delivered to our warehouse can often be incorrect. B&H Tropicals Ltd is not liable for any delays for packages from the US carriers. 

Some possible causes of such a delay are:

Your complete B&H Tropicals Ltd shipping address was not entered during online checkout.

The shipper did not label your package with your complete delivery address.

If your item is classified as a Restricted Export by US Customs, it can detained in Miami pending the necessary documentation and approval. We will assist and advise you in such cases. However it can be a lengthy and costly process depending on the item.

B&H Tropicals Ltd is not responsible for any package delayed for the above reasons. However, by Pre alerting all your packages upon initial purchase, you can help us minimize these types of delays.

A fuel surcharge is imposed on all carriers by all shippers (ocean and air). We at B&H Tropicals Ltd remain committed to serving you our valued customers in the best way possible keeping our “rate per pound” as low as possible.

We would like to offer this convenience to all our customers. However, due to the potential risks, we are unable to deliver in the areas below. We invite customers in these areas to contact us for alternative delivery arrangements.
